Professor Dr. Glenn H. Fredrickson
Materials Research Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB)

Director of UCSB’s Complex Fluids Design Consortium.

Founded the Mitsubishi Chemical Center for Advanced Materials (MC-CAM) at UCSB in 2001 and serves as MC-CAM Director.

He has over 230 refereed publications, one book, and 10 patents in fundamental and applied topics related to the statistical mechanics of complex fluids, including polymers, colloids, and glasses.

Professor Dr. Martin Gruebele
James R. Eiszner Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Physics, and Professor of Biophysics and Computational Biology.
 
His scientific interests are in the fields of protein and RNA folding, scanning-tunnelling microscopy, the theoretical quantum dynamics of molecular vibrations, and laser spectroscopy. The author of more than 100 scientific works to date, Martin Gruebele has received numerous scientific awards, inter alia from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung.

Professor Dr. Jan-Anders Månson
Laboratory of Polymer and Composite Technology

Laboratory Director at the Institute of Materials, where his research is focused on the next generation of materials and processes for the fast-growing polymer and composite field. His research partners are in the chemical, aerospace, automotive, medical and sport industry.

Prof. Månson has over 300 scientific publications and teaches courses in the above-mentioned fields and is acting on the editorial board of several scientific journals.

Professor Dr. Toshio Nishi
Principal Investigator and Professor at WPI Advanced Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, Sendai / Japan and emeritus professor of The University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (China)

He is one of the pioneers to establish science and technology of polymer alloys, blends and composites. Furthermore, he is a specialist to the Supreme Court in the field of polymer science and engineering, an associate member of the Science Council, Japan and convener of ISO/TC45/SC4/WG9 Elastomeric Isolators.

Professor Dr. Ir. Ignaas Verpoest
Professor in Composite Materials at the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven carrying out research in the areas of textile based composites, innovative sandwich materials, fibre-matrix interfaces, mechanical performance of composites.
 
In these areas, he has published over 150 scientific publications, and he holds 12 patents.
 
Professor Ignaas Verpoest is Chairman of the Materials Research Centre at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is furthermore past-president of the International Committee on Composite Materials and of the European Society of Composite Materials.
